About Invisible People
There is a direct correlation between what the general public perceives about homelessness and how it affects policy change. Most people blame homelessness on the person experiencing it instead of the increasing shortage of affordable housing, lack of employment, childhood trauma, lack of a living wage, or the countless reasons that put a person at risk. This lack of understanding creates a dangerous cycle of misperception that leads to the inability to effectively address the root causes of homelessness.
We imagine a world where everyone has a place to call home. Each day, we work to fight homelessness by giving it a face while educating individuals about the systemic issues that contribute to its existence. Through storytelling, education, news, and activism, we are changing the narrative on homelessness.
This isn’t just talk. Our groundbreaking educational content reaches millions of people every month. Our real and unfiltered stories of homelessness shatter stereotypes, demand attention and deliver a call-to-action that is being answered by governments, major brands, nonprofit organizations, and everyday citizens just like you.
However, there is more work to be done on the road ahead. Homelessness is undoubtedly one of our biggest societal issues today and will only continue to grow if we don’t take action now.
Invisible People is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to educating the public about homelessness through innovative storytelling, news, and advocacy. Since our launch in 2008, Invisible People has become a pioneer and trusted resource for inspiring action and raising awareness in support of advocacy, policy change and thoughtful dialogue around poverty in North America and the United Kingdom.

It is always the disruptors, the outcasts of the systems, the targeted, and disregarded that rise up, mobilize and establish truths in the mindsets of generations. We have established a homelessness corprate culture, and spent billions on these institutions that profess their truths, or solutions. It's bullshit, and they all know it. As they reek home hundreds of thousands in salaries, feep pontificating, build more institutions, and people continue to die. Call it out for what it is because if these institutions intended to actually solve homelessness they would have the people who live it decide where those billions go.

Well they were refusing to operate on patients who refused to take the jab so as a society a smoker could technically be discriminated against. We don't have any rights anymore, our first, second, and fourth amendment rights are pretty much gone, so at this point there's really nothing that the powers can't do. I guess the next step is to herd everybody like cattle into camps and who knows where it goes from there. These people aren't homeless, a lot of them have been displaced because of wealth inequality and gentrification, they've been displaced out of their community and we're blaming it on drugs or blaming them, instead of blaming the system that created the problem in the first place. But again we don't have any rights anymore. So is there anything that the powerful can't do? We know where this leads.

It's the elites that want internment camps. If you are supporting either political party than you are complicit. I know a social worker who still works in the sector and she hands out housing vouchers to people who qualify, but there's NO HOUSING. And yet, her boss get's paid 400,000 a year while she makes 35,000 year. She does all the work while her boss flies to St. Bart's every month. So the problem is at the top. So the problem is distribution. The corruption starts at the top. This should've been solved 20 years ago after the war when it really started to become obvious. The sad part was in never was solved.....

That doesn't even make any sense. This is a really big country. Why don't you just move somewhere where rent is more reasonable... The Los Angeles area wants about $1800 - $2300 a month for just a 1 bedroom apartment. Why wouldn't you just move to another US city where a 1 bedroom is about $700, theres are tons of medium-small cities like that around the country. There are even tons of cities where you can get a 2 bedroom for about $700 -$900, many medium or small-size cities. That beats being homeless, doesn't it?! You can get a job at any fast food restaurant or a 7-Eleven, or where ever. Even change jobs later. And it's two of you working so you really can afford a place in another city. Boy, people do some insane things. Living on the streets just to stay in Los Angeles. Don't tell me California isn't desirable! People are willing to do anything to stay there! The two of you can just go somewhere else in the country, have an actual home, and not live on the streets, or in a car or an RV. Move where you can afford it! Thats the bottom line. If you cant afford Los Angeles, you can't afford it - just move. You're suppose to take care of yourself. And I dont care if you were born there... you can't afford it. Just because you were pushed out of the womb in a particular city, doesn't mean you have to stay in that jurisdiction. You can live anywhere in this country. Go somewhere where you can have an actual apartment, perhaps even rent or buh a house, it all just depends on the town. Since teo of you are working, that makes it a little bit easier. It's time to have a real life and comfort, not live on the streets (that includes a car or RV) because you two want to stay in a location that you can't afford. I'm not trying to be harsh, but you can't afford it there. I'm not going to drive around a Ferrari car for $500,000 if I can't afford it. You're not supposed to live in a city you can't afford - when there are plenty of other cities you can afford.
